Mini-production
Our year begins in September with students writing an original one act mini theater production that opens in December. This unique acting experience allows the voice of our youth to be heard as they create an original production based on a given theme. As teens are educated and respond to tough issues that our world faces it not only sparks an internal change but a social change within our communities.
Mini-production Memories
2023 - Hidden Injustice
Hidden Injustice 2023- What happens when a group of teens wake up to find themselves in prison. Without the knowledge of who they are or what they've done, they slowly discover their stories, and that injustice has put them behind bars. Will they cave under the extreme pressure or remain strong in the face of oppression. Teens created a one act play based on real stories and inspiration of men and women who have been wrongfully locked up.
2022 - An Immigrant's Journey

2021 - The Poet's Gift
The play is loosely based on the book, A Gift Bear for the King by Carl Meming. The book is about a young bear cub who volunteered to go to the King as a bear-gift. He was admonished not to stop along the way, though he has adventures and stops quite often. The cast adapted the story into a one act play, creating more characters and looking closely at a variety of problems within a community. In the Poet's Gift, a young poet offers his poetry as a gift for the Queen. As he travels to her court, he encounters a community with great needs, all as a result of a distant queen who makes senseless policies. Offering himself to help the community, the Poet changes his poem, arrives late to her majesty's party and following strict policy, is thrown in jail. The play incorporates shadow puppetry as well as live puppets played by the cast members.
2020 - Flashback
This year, because of COVID 19, our theater department looks a little bit different. Finding new ways for our students to share their acting abilities we pressed on and took to the big screen! In just six short weeks, 8 students came together to develop and act in an original short film based off the theme, Flashback. The film is based on 7 students who take part in a theater production when a horrible accident takes place, leaving them all in distress. A year later they are mysteriously called together with the opportunity to erase the past, but at what cost? Will they jump on this chance, or find new ways to move on.
